Olive Murat "Lalla" Shaffer

Olive Shaffer Obituary

Formerly of Lexington, Bedford and Wellesley, died June 15, 2008. Survived by her daughter Agafia (Joelle) Prince and her husband Jonathan of Ashland, Oregon; her grandsons Rio Martinian Prince and his wife Evgenia, Alexander Joseph Prince; and Ben-Emmanuel Trolese and his wife Miriam; and four sparkling great-grandchildren, Kieran and Brendan Prince and David and Marissa Trolese, all of Oregon. Energetic canoeing teacher for the Boston Chapter of the AMC and spunky member of Sub-Sig; passionate advocate and leader of the Dance Circle of Boston. Member of First Parish (UUC) Lexington and Class of 1944 from Tufts University. Avid hiker, boater and lover of the arts, she scaled unheard of heights on Annapurna and Kilimanjaro without oxygen, winning the admiration of her Sherpa guides. Memorial service at First Parish Church, 7 Harrington Street, Lexington, Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Guests are invited to wear the bright colors that Lalla so loved. In her memory, donations would be welcomed by the Greater Boston Food Bank, 99 Atkinson Street, Boston, MA 02118 or by a humane society of your choice. Arrangements by John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, Natick.
