PATRICIA A. COSIMI

COSIMI, Patricia A. (Bennett) Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on October 4, 2025. Born in 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, Patricia "Pat" earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins Medical Center. In 1967, she moved to Boston, where she became head nurse of Emergency Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. It was there she met a surgical resident named Ben Cosimi, who would become her beloved husband of 58 years. After taking time off to raise their family in Weston, MA, Pat resumed her nursing career, first in the Weston Public Schools and later as head nurse at the Cambridge School of Weston. Pat served humbly and wholeheartedly as a caregiver, not only to her family but also to the hundreds of students who visited her office for medical care, a chat, or words of encouragement. Her children often heard from classmates who described her office as a place of comfort and kindness. Pat was also an artist. She found joy in creating beauty through painting, gardening, and floral arrangement. She shared these passions with her community through years of volunteer work with the Weston Creative Arts Council, the Weston Garden Club, and as a member of the flower team at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, contributing to the museum's annual Art in Bloom celebration. Nothing brought Pat more joy than caring for her family, raising her children, and doting on her grandchildren. She is survived and deeply missed by her husband, Ben; and their three children: Lisa Cosimi Miller (Scott N. Miller) of Lexington, Gregg Cosimi (Nancy Mellady Cosimi) of Weston and Beth Cosimi Macdonald (James Macdonald) of Watertown; five grandchildren, Grant, Avery, Caleb, Sydney and Maren. She was predeceased by her sister, Pamela Bennett; and her brother, Michael Bennett. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Patricia's Life is planned for early November.
