Well. Tempus fugit. Listening to Christmas carols in Latin this afternoon reminded me of the dearest Latin teacher one could have. Patricia Keating. A lovely, kind, thoughtful and passionate educator. So many wonderful thoughts of her energetic spirit and live if all things Latin. She is missed even these 30 plus years after I first stepped foot in her classroom. Dulce et carum somnia, dear Miss Keating.

To Joe and all the Keating family,
Patricia was a wonderful woman that always had a kind word for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I was a student of Miss Keating's for four years, from 1983 to 1987. She was a terrific teacher and person, and I was very saddened to learn of her passing. I remember the surprise slide shows of her vacations abroad, and singing Christmas carols (in Latin, of course). I can honestly say that I can't recall most of my high school teachers, but I'll never forget Miss Keating.
