Paul Hutchinson Obituary

90, of Centerville, MA died at his home on October 14. He was the husband of Susan A. Hutchinson of 44 years. He was born and raised in Arlington, MA, the youngest of 7 children. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1934 and attended Bowdoin College. He was a Lieutenant JG in the Coast Guard and he served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific theatre. Mr. Hutchinson's business career was in the scientific instrumentation field in sales, marketing and management. He started in service and sales with Baird Atomic in Bedford, MA. For many years he worked for the original Perkin-Elmer Corp. of Norwalk, CT, where he became General Manager of the Coleman Division in Hinsdale, IL and later VP of Sales of the Instrument Division in Norwalk, CT. He continued his career as an independent representative and consultant. In the early 80's he was president of Tachisto, Inc. of Needham, MA. He was one of the founders of the Spectranetics Corp. of Colorado Springs, CO. Loved by family and many friends and business associates, he will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children; Carolyn M. of Neenah, WI, Cynthia E. of Carlisle, MA. And from a previous marriage; Mark H. of Scituate, MA, Anne L. of Marietta, OK, Sara K. of Albuquerque, NM. He also leaves a sister Cynthia H. Reynolds of Centerville, MA, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod. 270 Communications Way, Hyannis, MA 02601.
