For Paul...
R.I.P. My friend
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Jane and Family, we were so shocked when we heard of Paul's passing last night. What a gentleman with that sweetest of smiles when he was talking with you. We will always remember our days with you in Dedham, as well as, the wonderful reception you and Paul gave us when we visited Fairbanks. So happy we were able to see you this past March in Naples. Jane, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Paul was one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I was always amazed because he always remembered my name, even though he must have talked to 100 different people a day with all he was involved in. I always get a kick out of people who live in Fairbanks who manage to keep their infectious East Coast accents, which he most definitely had. Paul was truly a gem in Fairbanks history, and his legacy will not be forgotten.

My condolences to Paul Massey's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Massey and remember seeing the family's involvement in community affairs. During the Midnight Sun Run, for instance, they were out in front of their home to cheer on the walkers and runners. So sorry he left you too soon.

Dear Jane,
I am so sad to learn of Paul's passing. He was a most remarkable man who I enjoyed interacting with in many civic venues.
What I will always cherish as a memory was the year we went to Florida on a civic leaders trip set up by General Van Horn. Paul overslept and the plane with everyone else aboard was on the tarmac waiting to fly back to Alaska. Paul arrived in a fast traveling cab and was met by armed Air Force personnel bent on protecting us from this obvious nefarious intruder. Later our Rotary club president received a rather lengthy (in fun) letter outlining all the misdeeds of Mr. Massey and the exhorbitant cost of the delay to the taxpayers penned by Van Horn who had been in our Rotary club. This was read to our club and met with hearty outbursts of laughter and applause and a red faced Paul Massey.
Jane, you and Paul will always be in the hearts of Fairbanksans.
With love and prayers for your healing.

I remember Paul as he came to work out with us almost every day. He was a gentle giant, who spoke quietly and wore a quiet smile. He reminded me of my dad, whom I left back east, and Paul was always there to give advice if you asked for it.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

I worked at the News Miner when he was the boss. I expected him to be "bossy" but the first time I met him and every other time after that, he was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. I am so sorry for his family's loss, and for the world's loss of such a wonderful man.
