Hi Ellen,
I was so sorry to read in the Globe that your beloved mother and our dear Northeasterner passed away. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mother was a classy, sweet lady who will be sorely missed.
My sincerest sympathy.
Yours in friendship,

It is with my deepest love and heart felt sympathy that I offer my condolences to my dear friend Ellen and her family. Your mother was a gem, and she will be missed by all of us, especially the Boston Northeasterners which she helped to create.
May God keep you in His care, and let the blessings engendered by your mother's kindness to all, pass on to her offspring.
