I was always in awe of Peter from the very first time he came to my cryo office to get frozen.
We shared similar geographies. In 1963 my family from Chicago spent a summer at Colby College in Waterville, Me. My father was studying there to become an Ophthalmologist.
We shared many memorable stories and adventures.
Peter will always be remembered as a great man who accomplished so much in life, and most importantly he so much loved his family, his friends and helped those he never met with medicine and culture.
He did the right thing when no one was watching.
Save us a seat and some peanuts at the old ball game up there. Edison K.

I 'm so sorry for your loss. Although your grief may seem unbearable, know that God wants to comfort you. Pour out your heart to him in prayer and experience the peace that only he can give. JEREMIAH 29:11

We were stunned to hear the shocking and painful news that Peter had contracted Malaria while traveling in Africa and died so suddenly. So hard to believe he has left us. We only met him and enjoyed lovely dinners together on two occasions, but he was so gracious and unassuming, and shared so openly in our conversations. It seemed like we had known each other for years.
We knew so much about Peter through Sarah, our son Justin's significant other for many years, whom we grew to love and treasure today like a daughter. We saw in Sarah and learned when she shared about Peter how loving, caring, and supportive a father he was to her and each of his children. He followed and invested himself in their interests and pursuits. He reached out lovingly to build special relationships. He relished his times together with Sarah, and Justin was welcomed in every way as an important member of his family.
It's funny and beautiful how you can just break bread with someone over several hours and yet develop great respect and fondness for them. Diane and I have enjoyed immensely those brief times with Peter and our memories of him. But more than anything, we are thankful that because of the very special person he was, he was able to bring friendship, fellowship, joy, and love into the lives of so many in his family and his circle of friends. Peter, you are treasured and will be sorely missed. Enjoy the blessings and peace of your eternal life until we break bread together again. Shalom.

So very true. A loving tribute to a great man and a great friend. Peter there are no words to express how much you'll be missed. May every seed you've planted in the lives of others grow and bloom into a lasting legacy of kindness, love and humanitarian entrepreneurialship.

Oh, Peter. Five decades of friendship with my husband, who used to drive up to Maine from Greenwich and then down to Florida to college. Such stories about your dad getting them up early for athletics. You were in our wedding party and we were both flying down to PR, and then we were going on to our honeymoon from there. You sat in coach and upgraded us to first class. Recently, Dunc spent a weekend with you? He left to go back home. You left for Africa. You sent with Duncan two gifts, a dish towel for me and some coasters for my brother-in-law, Kurt. Both with hysterical messages. I too lost my daddy, out of the blue from a cardiac arrest when I was 38. The many cards with love and personal notations meant the world to me. If there would be one place to send these cards, where would it be? We know how his kids are hurting. Sometimes funny memories and love are just the thing. What else can one do? Love you so, Peter. You are not were but ARE a blessing.oxo See you again, one happy day our friend. We are crushed but we know you'd hit me with that dish towel and tell me to snap out of it. Or meditate. ❤
