PETER CARR Obituary

CARR, Peter E. Of Harwich, MA and Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Braintree, MA, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2021, at the age of 87. Born in Boston, Peter was raised and educated in Braintree. He graduated Braintree High School, class of 1951, before going on to further his education at U. Mass. Amherst and Boston University. Peter was proud to have been a Navy pilot. He worked as an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agent, with the Norfolk County District Attorney, and for Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and ran some of the seminal drug abuse prevention programs in the country. Peter was an avid and talented golfer and basketball and tennis player. He enjoyed spending his summers in Harwich and his winters in Florida. Peter was elected to the Braintree School Committee and was an elected Town Meeting Member. He also served on the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Council. Peter was happiest reminiscing and laughing with friends and family. Peter was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Beloved husband of the late Eileen F. (Halloran) Carr, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Loving father of Kathleen B. Carr and her husband Sean A. Cornelius of Braintree and Peter G. Carr of Wakefield. Dear son of the late Charles F. and Kathleen E. (Gallagher) Carr. Loving brother to the late Charles F. Carr, Jr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, May 3rd, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., BRAINTREE. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 4th, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree, with a Burial to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Harwich.
