PHILIP J. SZYLKONIS Jr.

SZYLKONIS, Philip J. Jr. Of Medfield, formerly of Newton Upper Falls, Dec. 20, 2016 in his 92nd year. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Irene Frances (St. Pierre) Szylkonis. Devoted father of Stephen P. Szylkonis of Medfield and the late Suzanne M. Szylkonis. Brother of Joseph Peter Szylkonis Sr. of Medway and Stephanie Rizzo of W. Newton. Also survived by several nephews and nieces. Growing up and educated in Newton upper Falls, Phil was a dedicated communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Medfield, a member of the Beckwith Post 110, American Legion, Medfield and a proud World War Two Veteran having served with the Seabees in the Pacific Theater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at 10:00AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St., Medfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield. Visiting hours are Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00PM at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Miller St., MEDFIELD.
