RAYMOND LAVASH Obituary

LAVASH, Raymond Paul Jr., At 84 years of age, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, passed away after a long battle with Melanoma and complications from Covid-19. Husband of Connie Lavash and his late wife Ruth Bursey Lavash of 55 years. Father of Sharon Hawkins of Danville, NH, Susan Kehoe and her husband David, of Leominster, MA and Cindy Lavash of Danville, NH. He was Papa to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Brother of Theodore Lavash of Lowell. MA and predeceased by his parents, Raymond P. Lavash, Sr. and Ellen "Nellie" Hynes Lavash. He's also survived by his stepchildren, Tracey Ingalls Sumner of New York, Kim Ingalls Lassonde and her partner Jeff Christman of New York, Joseph Ingalls and his wife Mary of North Carolina, and Mark Ingalls and his wife Linda of New York and many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-children. Raymond spent over 24 years serving in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean War Era and spent a year in Da Nang, Vietnam. His grandson Joshua is following in his footsteps in the U.S. Air Force. He just completed his service in Germany and is now headed for Korea, then Japan. Raymond was a member of the Masons and the VFW. He loved spending time with his family and was a great, honest, honorable, brave and dedicated family man - he touched many hearts during his lifetime. He loved spending time at Cindy's farm and especially liked the donkeys. He loved time by the seashore and visiting lighthouses. We spent many summers in Marshfield, MA in the cottages that he rented. He loved playing practical jokes on his grandchildren and often regaled us with his mischievous pranks from his childhood. We shared many memories and laughs with him. He will be remembered with awe, respect and cherished until eternity. Due to the precautions surrounding COVID-19, all arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Raymond to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or cancer.org/donate. Paul has been in my life, for as long as I can remember, even before "officially," becoming my stepdad. I am grateful that I was able to spend time with Paul and bond with him, over the last year. Paul was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly, I already do. Thank you for being a part of my life and a part of my children's lives, we love you and pray that you are at peace now.
