Richard O'Brien Obituary

Formerly of Roslindale, age 38, June 17, 2008. Deeply loved father, son & brother, succumbed to a battle with a long standing illness. Former Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff. He will always be remembered for his contagious laughter, his friendly demeanor & his sensitive heart. He leaves behind his beloved daughter Samantha O'Brien of the North End. Devoted mother, Margaret "Peg" (Hynes) O'Brien of Ft. Myers, FL (formerly of West Roxbury) & the late Richard G. O'Brien, sister Ellen Munroe & William of Medway; brothers Michael of Sunapee, NH, Paul (B.P.D.) & Katherine of Franklin, MA & John of Scottsdale, AZ. He also leaves behind three nieces, Kelly, Nicole & Mary Margaret. Four nephews, Patrick, Sean, Brendan & Kieran. He will be missed. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 1Oam followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St., West Roxbury at 11 o'clock. Visiting hours Sunday 4-9 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park. It is with great sadness that I learned of Richie's death. I have many fond memories growing up with him and the Zeinieh's on Cornell St. I was out of town and unable to attend the services. I want to express my most heartfelt sympathy. I hope you can find comfort in your many special memories and in the thought of the happy years you shared.

A friend told me of Richies passing. It wasn't until I saw it here, that emotion struck. Richie was a friend in high school, & he will be remembered fondly. My heart goes out to the O'Brien family.
