Dear Welch Family,
My mother, Beatrice dropped me a note today telling me that your dad, my Uncle Richie had passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. I am sorry that I had not heard earlier and just wanted to let you know what you already know - he was a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Take good care. Your cousin Dianne

Papa, a month has passed and the mourning is done. i still miss the day to day,the witty comments we said back and forth, i use your guidance every day to keep me strong, all i can say is thank you for showing me the way and teaching me to stay on the straight and narrow path. the toughest part of your death is the missing you every day.Not as a father but as a friend. you were always the one i could ask anything and i had no problem telling you just how i feel. most children could never talk to their parents about half the stuff me and you would talk about. you always treated me as an equal, never as a small child.the day to day advice, well that might not be there anymore but i will take what you have given me and hold it close to me forever.you are a person that will never be easily forgotten. i live my life through your words and guidance. yesterday was a tough day for us kids, being your 1 month anniversary, and mom's 13th year. i lift my chin and know that i had two great teachers in life and i will never forget the ways you taught us. please tell mom that the grandkids all know about her and talents and lessons in life. my girls miss you deeply dad, and i wish they had that chance with mom.i know with the two of you watching over us we have nothing to worry about. every day i apply the lesson learned from you and mom and hope they can feel how special you really were to me. i hope i will be half the man you were. i love you dad,"rest'em easy huh Papa!"

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To my best friend'
I will miss you more than anyone. you were the person that always kept me motivated and on track. i have learned so much about life through you. You were the one that taught me all the tricks i know. You may be gone but the memories will remain my keepsakes. You will be missed by many, but never forgotten. Many times in my life i have looked to you guidance, and you have always been there for me, and i can't thank you enough for the life lessons you taught me. You have influenced many peoples lives and no matter the circumstances you could always get them to smile. Through the years i have been told by many people that i had the greatest dad anyone could ever ask for, I think they were wrong, i had the greatest best friend anyone could ever ask for. with all my heart Dad, i miss you more than anything. now it is time to lift my chin and take a deep breath. Dad you may be gone but i can never forget all the times shared with you and all the lessons you guided me through. My promise to you is i will never forget you, and i count every day i spent with you as a blessing!
So go take that cat nap in that chair, i will always be thinking about you papa!
Your best friend
and loving son.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I have many fond memories of the Welch's and the Walsh's. Still haven't figured out the correct spelling of the name.
The important thing is and always will be "We are Family". In good times and bad we were always there for each other.
God Bless You All
