GEARY, Robert B. Age 84, of Hyannis, MA and Naples, FL, formerly of Mission Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on September 30, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Fay M. (Donovan) for 60 years. Beloved father of Robert Geary and his wife, Denyse of West Roxbury, Michael Geary of Hyannis and Joan Geary St. Peter of Westwood. Cherished grandfather to Sydney, Sean, Brendan, Justin, Ryan and Jack. Loving brother of Michael Geary and his wife, Nancy of West Roxbury and the late Joan Dunn and Joseph Geary. Beloved son of the late Robert and Helen Geary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob grew up in Mission Hill and moved to Hyde Park to raise his family. He retired from the Boston Globe after 40 years in 1999. He spent his time enjoying retirement between Cape Cod and Naples, FL. Always a gentleman, he was simply the best. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting Hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Monday, October 6, from 3pm-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home, on Tuesday, October 7, at 8:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church), 1545 Tremont St., Boston, at 10am.
