Bob was a great mentor to me at the Lynn Item in 1965-6 when I was a summer reporter. He always put reporting into persepctive for me and was someone I could always count on for help. In the 40+ years since he never lost his youthful humor and wry perspective. His loss is a very bad deal. I'm so sorry for his family.

Dear Pat,
I am so very sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Though I only had the chance to meet him once, he made a lasting impression as a warm and caring man. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and all of his family.
