Dearest Kierstead Family, We send our truest and deepest sympathies to all of you. This time is painful, dark and difficult at best. Even these words we write are not enough to remove the sadness. Hopefully, they will at least alleviate some of the sorrow, be it just for a few moments. Our prayers are with you and the beloved one you lost. Mrs. Kierstead and Family,
I work with Bob on a daily basis and many a day Bob talks about his upbringing, his fond memories of family and growing up as a young man in the Boston area. Bob always has an interesting story about his dad and his career at the Boston Globe. It is evident Bob's father had a strong impact on the man Bob is today. Knowing Bob the way I do I'm sure Mr. Kierstead had a feeling of family pride for the fine family he help create. His is a life well lived leaving this world a better place than what he found it.

I met Bob when I was a young girl visiting the Boston Traveler with my father, Jack O'Shea . I remember his contagious laugh and wonderful personality, and I am sorry to read of his death in this morning's Globe. Please accept my condolences.
