MacKINNON, Robert S. Of Sharon and Lakeville, MA, also known as Bob, Dad, Grumpy and Uncle Bob, formerly of West Roxbury, entered into eternal life on October 13, 2016 at 83 years old, joining his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia (Leary) MacKinnon in heaven. He will be greatly missed and always loved by his 10 children, Kathy Foley of Roslindale, Jim MacKinnon and his wife Deb of Newbury, Pat Roth of Sharon, Joan Gainey and her husband Tom of Holbrook, Roberta "Bobbi" McCarron of Nashua, NH, Mary Sheehan and husband Rob of West Roxbury, Michael MacKinnon and his wife Susan Marie of Easton, Karen Straehle and her husband Mike of Norwood, Joseph MacKinnon and his wife Leslie of Hyannis and John "Jake" MacKinnon and his wife Eileen of Brookline. With a legacy of love, "Grumpy" also leaves 30 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with two more "roughed in" and scheduled to arrive soon. Bob grew up in the Boston area, and lived most of his life in West Roxbury before retiring in Sharon, MA. Bob was one of my fathers best friends, I'd like to think that the two of them are having a great laugh together right about now.
He was a great help to me when I was a younger man in need of his services when I needed to put my home back together after a fire.
Our family is so sorry for your loss.

Marty and Mike will tell you I'm not a great plumber but I can tell you I would've been a terrible one without Bob. He used to meet me at Endocott Library and help me prepare for my test and never wanted a thing in return. Great guy. He will be missed.
