ROBERT "BOB" MURPHY

MURPHY, Robert "Bob" Age 86, of Swampscott, former Hospital Planner for the Archdiocese of New York, an executive with the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Assistant Vice President of Professional Relations at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Assistant Commissioner of Mental Health for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Beloved husband of Patricia (Skinder) Murphy; devoted father to David, James, Catherin ("Camie") and her husband Jose Anico, and Peter and his wife Christina (DiAngelis) Murphy. In 1969, Bob and Pat moved the family from New York to Swampscott to be closer to their respective families. Bob was a loving brother to his five siblings: Katherine (deceased), Paul (deceased), Bishop William Murphy, Virginia (deceased), and Sister Paul St. Katherine, SND. He was the beloved "Papa" to his seven grandchildren: Erik, Laura, Jessica, Cooper, Maya, Joshua, and Noah. Visiting Hours: The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott on Friday, December 1, at 11 AM.
