Robert Quinlan Obituary

QUINLAN, Robert F. 78, died Wednesday at Mass. General Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of 55 years of Mary T. (Halligan) Quinlan. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Leo F. and Muriel A. (Coughlin) Quinlan and lived in Ny and CT before moving to Marlborough 20 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed for 45 years by the Texaco Co. as an accountant in charge of office operations in many locations before retiring in 2000. He was also in charge of the Texaco Credt Union for many years of his employment with the company. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish serving as a lector and also assisting at funerals as lector, eucharistic minister and altar server. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Theresa M. Quinlan of San Francisco, 3 sons, Leo P. of Marlborough, Michael K. of No. Andover and William M. of Gainsville GA , 1 brother, William P. of Hanson MA: 8 grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Mills and Daniel, Emma, Kathryn, Robert, Joseph and Stephen Quinlan. He was pre-deceased by a son Robert. His funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours at William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. MARLBOROUGH will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m.. memorial contributions in his memory should be made to: The Scholarship Fund of Immaculate Conception School, C/O Martha McCook, 25 Washington Ct., Marlborough MA 01752.
