ROBERT CHRISTOPHER "BOB" STEELE

1955 - 2024

STEELE, Robert "Bob" Christopher Age 69, of Chestnut Hill, MA, died Saturday, December 21, 2024. Bob was born on September 21, 1955, in Newton, MA, and grew up in Reading, MA. He was the son of the late Robert Paul Steele and Catherine (Reardon) Steele. Bob was a proud graduate of Reading High School, where he made lifelong friends. Bob did post secondary training at Mass Rehab. His determination to have a full and independent life was admirable. Bob was a devoted son and a loving brother to his sisters, whom he dubbed "the five Marys." Bob treasured his many nieces and nephews and looked forward to visits and reunions. A resident of Cape Cod for many years, Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of family time, his dog, Molly, seventies music, and a Dunkin' coffee at West Dennis Beach. Bob is survived by sisters, Mary Susan Steele of Jamaica Plain, MA, Mary Catherine Steele (Dave McMurray) of Hartsville, TN, Mary Judith Meelia of Jamaica Plain, MA; Mary Elizabeth Steele (Alison Hartung) of Sandown, NH, and Mary Ann "Nancy" Paulding (Bob Paulding) of Yarmouth Port, MA. Visitation Hour will be held at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA, on Thursday, December 26, at 12:00 p.m., followed by Service at 1:00 p.m. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
