Dear Sam and Lana,
Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time of sorrow. Please let the love and support of others help sustain you with the loss of your Dad. I'm sure he must have been a wonderful man.

I would like to add my condolences to those of Rodney's many friends and colleagues. I will remember him as a truly delightful, ebullient scholar and a gentleman whose enthusiasm for manuscripts was inspiring. He was a joy to work with and a kind friend to everyone at the Houghton Library.

I was very sorry to learn that Rodney passed away. He was a great leader in the community and a source of encouragement for younger people. He set an example for attainment that guided me for many years. He will be sorrowfully missed.
