A gentle and caring man who I remember fondly from perhaps fifty years ago when he and his wife ran the Sunday School at First Parish in Concord. I remember the my parent's respect for him and his sermons to the children at chapel. I am sorry for your loss but his memory will always be with me.

To the Duncan Family:
Please accept my deepest condolences. Mr. Duncan was, quite simply, the best teacher I had at Belmont Hill. He shared his infectious love of literature, writing and the sea with all of us. Although he properly demanded the best from us, we all knew that he never asked more from us than a fraction of what he demanded of himself. In that regard, it did not surprise me to see him at one of my reunions racing at the Head of the Charles long after I and most middle aged mortals had declared a truce with ultra-strenuous athletics.
I cannot hope to console you for loss. But I hope that you can take some comfort in the fact that his life and example continue to be reflected in the lives of the hundreds of students whom he so profoundly influenced. I am grateful to have been one of them.

My grandfather was one of the kindest and most generous men I have ever known. Although he was also so humble that you'd never know it! He was simply the best and will be dearly missed by all who had a chance to know him.

Roger was loved and respected by all the boys at Belmont Hill School whom he helped on thier voyage to manhood. He was kind, understanding, smart and multi-dimensional. I regret I did not reconnect with him and his family when we moved to Maine.

Roger was such a gentle man. I was always impressed with his caring attentiveness to his wife, his easy manner, and that he would rise from his chair (with some difficulty) to shake my hand when we met. He will be missed.
