Roy Doucette Obituary

DOUCETTE, Roy Vincent Age 75, December 31, 2011, from Alzheimer's. Devoted husband of Rebecca (Pothier) Doucette of Nova Scotia. Beloved father of Denise Doucette and wife Patricia of Billerica, Donna Anderson and husband Stephen of NH, Daniel Doucette and wife Penelope of Lowell, Derek Doucette of Lowell. Son of the late Joseph and Julia Doucette. Brother of Carl of NH, Paul of FL, the late Lawrence Doucette of Reading. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Jeremy, Olivia, Joshua, and Andrew . He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families and friends. Roy was born in Reading, served in the United States Army and raised 4 children in Wakefield. Roy loved his family, outdoors, country music, and long-distance running. His most recent being the 2003 Boston Marathon. Funeral Services in Nova Scotia. Donations may be made to the Bedford GRECC unit, 200 Springs Rd, Bedford, MA where he was well cared for the past 4 years.

The Doucette family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Roy was a wonderful person and a true friend. I have so many good memories of Roy. We ran thousands of miles together including the 1998 "Freds Instead" marathon. I really enjoyed spending time with Roy. Roys passion for life and the things he believed in have made me a better person. I have no doubt Roy got an express pass to heaven.

You touched my families lives as a father, father-in-law and grandfather. Your life was taken much too soon. I will always remember your passion, dedication, commitment and perseverance in everything you did. Your passion for running was such an inspiration to all of us and we knew how much it meant to you.
