McCARTHY, Sean Patrick Sean was born and raised in Scituate. As a teen, he worked in Scituate's Mossing industry and then spent most of his professional life traveling the world as an airline pilot. Despite his extensive travels, Sean always maintained his lifelong connection to Scituate Harbor, owning and operating his lobster boat, "The Outer Marker". Sean's infectious quick wit and sense of humor could bring levity to any conversation. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marina (Garcia) McCarthy; his stepdaughter, Nina Garcia and her husband, Thomas Nitroy; and his granddaughter, Madeline of London, England; siblings, Timothy McCarthy, his wife, Carol of VA, Terence McCarthy, his wife, Joanne of Scituate, MA, Patrick McCarthy, his wife, Catherine of Scituate, MA, Colleen McCarthy of Truckee, CA and Gail Clemmer of Florida; as well as five nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 9am to 12pm, at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, SCITUATE.
