MODIGLIANI, Serena (Calabi) Of Cambridge, formerly of Belmont on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Franco. Devoted mother of Andre Modigliani of Ann Arbor, MI and Sergio Modigliani of Brookline. Loving grandmother of Leah, Julia, David and Amelia and great grandmother of Micaela, Sophia, Serena and Chiara. Dear aunt of Enrico Modigliani and Paola Fano of Rome. Family and friends will be welcome at her late residence on Friday 7-9pm. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday at her late residence at 11 am with reception to follow. In Lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to American Friends Service Committee, 1501 Cherry St., Philadelphia, PA 19102. Levine Chapels, Brookline 617-277-8300

Yesterday was Franco's anniversary. I got home too late to call. I had planned on calling Serena this weekend.

to Sergio my most sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother. She was always a dear friend, kind and understanding. She was a voice of reason in an unsettled world. Her help and guidance over the years kept the Circolo Italiano di Boston alive and vital. I shall miss her greatly and cherish my memories of her.
