Dear Belinda, I have just come across the sad news while searching Cappy's name on the internet. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. I hadn't been in touch for many years and Steve will be greatly missed. 'Larger than Life' and one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure to know.

For Belinda... I just moved back to my hometown after selling my house in East Boston & Erin called me today with this horrible news. My heart is with you as I unfortunately know all too well the pain of such a monumental loss. I hope you know that Steve will always be with you - in spirit, in your wonderful memories, & as a little angel on your shoulder taking pride in all the joy you have yet to experience in life. When you and Steve got together, I think that was the first time I saw a friend of mine find her soulmate and be truly happy. I feel so blessed to have known Steve ... his joie de vivre is what I'll always remember about him ... that and his deep love for you. Be well, Bel. You are in my prayers.

Steve was my first ever boyfriend when I was in 10th grade. That, in itself, made him special in my life. I am so shocked and saddend to hear this news. He was a wonderful friend, good trombone player, and great actor. And most of all, he was fun to be around. I will always remember him.

Steve was an extraordinary friend. He was truly a force of nature, always much larger than life. Loving, caring, and funny as hell, Cappy had an enormous heart and an extraordinary talent. We were all very fortunate to have known and loved him as we did. We shall miss him very much.
