McSHERRY , Stephen J. Stephen J. McSherry (Ret. BFD) of West Roxbury, passed away on January 10, 2025. Beloved husband of Rita M. (VonEuw). Devoted father of Christopher McSherry and his partner, Jennifer Snook of West Roxbury, Stephen J. McSherry and his wife, Caitrin of Walpole and Janine Smith and her husband, Richard of West Roxbury. Dear brother of Robert McSherry of GA, Collette McSherry of FL, James McSherry of Germany and the late Paul McSherry. Loving grandfather of Christopher McSherry, Jr., Nolan and Jack McSherry, Martin and Sean Smith. Cherished brother-in-law of James VonEuw and his wife, Maureen of Westwood, Maureen Carty and her husband, Rich of Walpole, Paula VonEuw of Reading and the late William and John VonEuw. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Wednesday, January 15, at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment is private. Visiting Hours on Tuesday, January 14, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, in the funeral home. Hey Steve,

Just read about your dad´s passing. He was a great guy that I knew from my West Roxbury days. I grew up just around the corner from DeSoto Road. We played softball against each other down Billings. As I am retired from BPD I often chatted with your dad down the South End when we both were working. I am saddened to hear the news and sorry I missed his services. Your family is in my prayers for Steve was truly one of Boston´s Finest and a great Jake.

Rita I´m so sorry I found out today about Steve´s passing. I´m so sorry Rita I would have come to see you and your family. I didn´t know till just now found out from Steve concannon. I missed seeing everyone I feel so bad about that. What can I say I am really sorry to hear about Steve we all go way back our parents were all friends I know both families. I´m feeling the sadness Rita I´m so sorry. Please Father in Heaven give to the McSherry and VonEuw families what they need nobody knows except you Lord. Rita I am sorry for you and you family´s great loss.
