We were blessed to have known the Salvato family through Johnnies football and shared many wonderful times throughout the years our sons played together.

Jackie, Chris, Andrew, and family, our hearts are heavy for all of you. We can't begin to image your loss. Steve was a great man and a joy to be around. How very sad we won't be sharing our Fall season in the SJU stands with him. We'll miss his presence.

You have our deepest sympathy in the passing - much too soon - of your precious Steve. We'll always remember him fondly.

Even though my cousin Steve was 8 yrs older than me..we all stillshared the same memories we will never forget at Plum Island growing up at the cottage, the 4th of Julys, going out on the boat fishing..laughing just sharing time and life which proves to be just so so short...I have been so upset by this tragic even as well as his Aunt Nora and cousin Fran...even though we were far away we were never far away in heart and thoughts. The most recent I remember is when Jacke and Steve came to Florida to visit us at Frans restaurant at the Gunn highyway Flea Market the pictures will last forever to remember the smile and laugh of Steve. We will miss you..Love Mary Catherine and Francis and Aunt Nora

I have had the pleasure of knowing the Salvato family over the years while recruiting Chris and Andrew to play football at Saint John's. Steve was a great father and terrific husband. He swelled with pride when talking of his sons. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious attitude. I know he will be greatly missed. My prayers and condolences go out to his wife and to Chris and Andrew. God Bless!

It was an honor for me to be part of "Steve's Team" at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute. I was also very grateful for his participation in our Coping With Change Support Group. HIs enthusiasm and positive attitude helped countless other patients with their own struggles. I only knew him during his cancer journey but it was obvious that he lived life to the fullest and that his family meant everything to him. My thoughts and prayers are with Jackie, Christopher, Andrew and all of Steve's fantastic family. With sincere sympathy , Julie Morphew

Words can't describe Steve Salvato. For me, the mischief in his smile comes closest to capturing him. Though we're far away, Carol and I always have, and always will, remember him, and his wife Jackie, very fondly.

I came to know Steve through the retreats at Demontreville and I couldn't ask for a more genuine man. He was kind, humorous and a spiritual man. I was shocked today when I was told about his passing. I was with him on retreat this past April and I am still stunned by his death.

To all family members:
What a kind man. His humor was so quick and never biting. I know that God has welcomed him. God bless you.

Sincerely,

John Bartzen

I met Steve while he was networking his way toward a new career after H.B. Fuller. It was a pleasure to get to know him, even if it was a brief acquaintanceship. My condolences to his family - who were always featured in every conversation I had with him.
