SUSAN HALLETT Obituary

HALLETT, Susan L. (Humphrey) Age 79, died at home in Wellesley, MA, on October 8, 2025, after a courageous struggle with ovarian cancer for 18 years. Born in Peoria, Illinois, Susan earned her M.Ed. from Northwestern University and taught at elementary schools before dedicating herself to raising her children and supporting her extended family and community. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones and known for her unwavering encouragement and kindness. Susan's warmth and acceptance touched everyone around her. A lifelong animal lover, she enjoyed horseback riding in her youth and caring for family pets throughout her life. In her later years, many admired her strength and bravery in facing health challenges with grace. Susan joins her beloved husband, Joe, who passed away in 2010. Susan was a devoted and loving mother to their three children, Joe, Lindsay, and Kathryn; and their spouses; and an adored Nana to their grandchildren, Jackson, Reed, Cole, and Emmy. She was a caring sister and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be immensely missed. Donations may be made to Tina's Wish for the early detection of ovarian cancer and the Massachusetts Humane Society for the care and protection of animals. A Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, 207 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
