SUSAN KRINSKY Obituary

KRINSKY, Susan G. (1934-2025) Susan Gans Krinsky, Ed.D., age 91, of Brookline, MA, died peacefully on September 11, 2025, after living with Alzheimer's disease for several years. Susan was born in Rye, NY, studied psychology at Vassar College, and Harvard where she earned a doctoral degree. It was in Cambridge that she met her husband, Norman Krinsky, and they were residents of Brookline for 50 years. Throughout her life, Susan took seriously each individual's emotional health and sought to connect on an emotional level, whether as a therapist, a family member, or a friend. Living with Alzheimer's in her final years, Susan always maintained her warmth and graciousness. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Krinsky; and is survived by her daughter, Lisa Krinsky; and son, Adam Krinsky; her daughter-in-law, Ranit Schmelzer; and grandchildren, Colin Krinsky, Jenna Krinsky and Norah Stone. Burial will be private. Shiva will follow at the home of Lisa Krinsky, 7pm-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 2Life Communities or the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation.

My cousin, Susan, z"l, was definitely ahead of her time. She became a professional working woman when it was not that common for women to do. And aside from her career, she was a warm and loving person whose family and grandchildren were her biggest joy. May her memory forever be a blessing.

So terribly sorry for your loss, Lisa. Susan was such a bright presence at the Senior Center, through her work with BrooklineCAN, for so many years and she has been missed since her move. Wishing you and your family comfort in the days ahead. May her memory be a blessing.
