What a beautiful man. He touched thousands of people in the town of Needham... and that generation all felt safe, and healthy because of him.

I was a Nanny to three children in Dover and Dr Connolly was their doctor. It was always me that brought them in to see him and we had a very special relationship. He treated me with great respect and understood I was the main caretaker of the children. He was an amazing Doctor and the children and I trusted him totally. In all my years of being a Nanny I have never had a doctor of my charges treat me so professionally. I am sorry for the loss of such a wonderful human being who paid it forward with his kindness and commitment to his craft and other human beings. He was a wonderful Doctor and the children loved him, as did I.

To The Connolly Family,Words can not express my deepest sympathy." Dr. Connolly" became a household name growing up in West Roxbury. He and Dr. Salvo made the last of the house calls to me and my siblings. Later, my own two daughters had the pleasure of having the greatest, most caring, pediatrician ever. They played with their Fisher Price (Dr. Connolly) kits for years. We were blessed X 2 generations. He spoke of his own family often to me, always with a smile. His wisdom and wit touched me forever. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Connolly's Family -
I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Connolly's passing after reading the piece in the Globe this weekend. Dr. Connolly was a gifted physician and one of the kindest and warmest human beings I've ever met. He cared for my 3 children until his retirement. I couldn't possibly list all the exceptional moments during their childhoods when he touched their lives. I particularly remember his visits in the hospital when my children were born and the countless times he called me to check on my children's health. He always spoke so proudly of his children and their remarkable accomplishments. We were blessed to have known him.
My sincerest condolences to you all,
Tara Heffernan Dunn

To the Connolly Family:
I am so sorry and sad to hear about Dr. Connolly's passing. I was one of his patients from the time I was born in 1977 until it was time for me to move on when I turned 18 in 1995. He truely was one of the nicest people I have ever known. I was always so nervous going to the doctor as a little kid and Dr. Connolly always put me at ease with a smile & a joke. He was an unbelievable doctor and I only wish my one year old son could have been lucky enough to also have Dr. Connolly as his pediatrician. Thank you Dr. Connolly and my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Connolly family.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Connolly's passing. He was my doctor, as well as my brother and sister's doctor, when we were children. He was extremely kind with a gentle wit, and he put you immediately at ease. I know I am not the only person he made a lasting impression on as a child. Our prayers are with his family.

Dear Connolly Family:
Dr. Connolly was cherished and loved by my three children, my husband and myself. He was more than their pedatrician, he gave them great advice, advised us as parents and always acted as he had all day to spend with us during our visits. We will remember him always with fondness.

Dear Connolly Family:
We were so sad to hear of the death of Dr Connolly. He was my daughter's pediatrician and gave us great comfort and support when she was so very sick. He came to Children's during her surgery and was there at 630am every day to check on her. He possessed the finest qualities. His gentle smile and sound advice will surely be missed. May he rest in the gentle peace of the Lord. Our prayers are with you.

Tom Connolly was our neighbor and Family Pediatrician from 1975 to 1978.
He was a perfuct gentleman and an excellent neighbor.
One night, in the middle of the night, his alarm went off and he rushed to my door, asking for help. He had lost the key to the alarm box and could not stop the alarm. I had the good fortune to stop the alarm. I think that was the last time I spoke with Tom.
God bless Tom Connolly.

It is hard to put into words to describe how a smart, wonderful and caring doctor your husband and father was. Always trusted his judgment and opinions. Our children Lynn and Eric are now grown and have their own great memories of their childhood doctor. We also had the great pleasure of Dr. Connolly treating our first grandchild till he retired. Our condolences to all of you at this difficult time.

It is with a deep sadness we extend our sincere condolences to the entire Connolly family. Dr Connolly was our pediatrician for both of our daughters. He was, without any doubt, the finest doctor I have ever met. He was thoughtful, articulate and caring. We will fondly remember all the "after-hours" appointments. Tom Connolly was what EVERY doctor should be.

It is with deep sadness we extend our most sincere condolences to the entire Connolly family. We moved to Needham 25 years ago and Dr Connolly was our pediatrician for all 3 of our children. Cannot say enough about the quality of care and the great wisdom he bestowed on 2 young parents who really needed his guidance over the years. Always available and always upbeat he was the quintisential town pediatrician. We have lost a legend and our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Dr. Connolly was the answer to every mother's anxious concern for her child. Children sensed his compassion and responded to his gentle touch.
His affect on children was long lasting... Almost 10 years ago, when our son was spending the night in a cramped hospital chair after the birth of his first child, the sound of Dr. Connolly's voice on morning rounds awoke him from his sleep! What a marvelous human being; he will be truly missed. The Hurwitch Family

Our condolences to all of you. I first got to know Dr. Connolly at 79 Nichols St, Norwood, when his mother and sister lived there and we lived on the 3rd floor. He was always so attentive to them. I later became a nurse and worked at Norwood Hospital and he was one of the best doctors there. He had a kind and gentle way with everyone and he will be missed. My husband worked side by side with him on many days in the OR. We both are sad to hear about your loss but happy to have known him.

To the Connolly Family -
Deepest condolences from the Boulris family.
Dr. Connolly cared for us so well. I remember several episodes of agonizing ear aches which exploded at the most inopportune times. In desperation, my mother called Dr. Connolly for help and sure enough, he met us at the office late at night. His was a standard of care I have not since encountered in raising my own children.
I hope that you have many such proud memories of him which will carry you forward.

To the Connolly Family,
You don't know me but I knew Tom as a colleague and friend. I came to Newton to start my practice just a few years after Tom started. He was always so kind and helpful to me. He deserved a longer retirement to relax and enjoy the fruits of his labor. To those who knew him he will be missed.

I was lucky enough to have worked at the Glover Hospital, and got to know the docs at Needham Pedi. I knew that would be where I would want to take my children. I consider myself blessed to have had such a solid man as Dr. Connolly. Very conscientiously, he would end each check up with a lesson to the kids, such as why you wear seat belts. The lesson was always brief, but quite pointed, with the lesson strongly driven home. Beyond that, I admired Dr. C's way. He was a real person--never pretentious. Around town, he always smiled and had a pleasant reply. The kids all knew he was the best!!!! After Dr. C retired, I ran into him, and addressed him as Dr. C. He said he was "just Mr. C now that he had retired". I told him that he had earned and been granted a diploma, and that even if he was no longer practicing, he absolutely was, and would always be Dr. C to us. I am so sorry that you have lost him. I know that he will send his love to you from heaven, which is exactly where such a fine man would be. And I know that all the kindness he showed everyone he came in contact with, will grow, bloom and be shared, by all of us.
