THOMAS DOLAN Obituary

DOLAN, Thomas J. "Tom" Age 76, longtime resident of Millis, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on April 17, 2023. Tom could make friends anywhere and loved to tell stories. He was a terrible fisherman, a voracious reader, and the owner of a wildly infectious laugh. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tom grew up in Wayne, NJ; the third of seven children of Joseph and Violet Dolan. He graduated from Boston College in 1968 and earned his master's degree there two years later. He was a juvenile probation officer in the Greater Boston area before going to work for Nissan Motor Corporation, where he spent 28 years. In his retirement, Tom was an enthusiastic soccer and softball coach, as well as a frequent substitute teacher. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia "Pat" (Rosata) Dolan; his children, Megan Dolan and Eric Duggan of Chelmsford, Brendan and Noreen Dolan of Milton, and Caitlin and Chris Robillard of Brookline; as well as six grandchildren. Tom also leaves behind siblings, Peter Dolan, Kathy Taylerson, Susan Friese, Joanne Morro, Gerry Donnelly and Michael Dolan; and numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church, 420 High St., Dedham, on Tuesday, April 25, at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Tom's memory to support Lewy Body Dementia caregiving and research at Hebrew SeniorLife, Boston, giving.hebrewseniorlife.org Online guestbook, at gfdoherty.com George F. Pat and family....my name is Al Pizzi. Tom and I worked together at the Wrentham District Court for several years. Tom was a friend an colleague who fully dedicated himself to the youth that he served as a juvenile probation officer.
His dedication extended beyond his work day at the courthouse to the community which he lived and served. It earned him the respect of his coworkers and many friends.
I send my condolences for his loss and blessings to you and your family...... Al Pizzi

Uncle Tom was always the life of the party. He always made me feel so included and special at every family function. Tom was so funny and was always smiling or laughing. My heart and prayers are with his family, Aunt Pat, Megan, Brendan, Caitlin and their families. We love you all - Tracy

Uncle Tommy, You always made us feel so loved. You had the kindest heart and were a great listener. You had all of the riches in life - love, family, laughter. I hope you felt the love from us, too.

I´ve been enjoying your laughter running through my mind over the past few days - as you´re finally free from disease. Ahhh! You had the most infectious laugh in the world, along with Grandma, and told the greatest tall tales! A true Irishman.

Heaven gained the legend, Tommy Dolan.

Love, Erin Lee
