Although I have not seen you in some time, your loss is deeply felt. You taught me very important things growing up, like how to spit, how to use a butterfly knife and how Dungeons and Dragons and Iron Maiden were essentials to a growing, young mind. I am truly sorry to hear of your passing and more sorry not to have been able to say good-bye. I am the richer for having known you and the poorer now that you are gone. Rest in peace, old friend. You are missed.

The windchimes are a very comforting reminder that you are at peace and no longer suffering. You will never be forgotten, dear friend.

Hi Tom (Hunny),
It's been a year already and there hasn't been a day that has gone by that I don't wake up thinking of you, fallen asleep thinking of you. I even have some dreams of you, to only wake up and it's only a dream. I find myself thinking how could this happen to you, why did you have to leave us so soon.
I miss you very much, the only thing that makes it easier is to know that you are not suffering anymore.
Rest in peace, You will always be forever in my heart.

Sometimes, when I am alone, all of a sudden I get a warm feeling, like your presence is near me. I want to hold on to that warmth and never let it go because it comforts me. I don’t feel so sad when I feel you near me. If a genie came along and offered me only one wish, I wouldn’t even have to think about it. I would choose you in a heartbeat – to have you healthy and back here with us. I always knew that you were a special kind of person, and you made me so proud to be your Mom. The cards and letters that I received made me realize how loved you were and how many lives you touched. I heard from people that I don’t ever remember you mentioning – but they wanted me to know how you had made a difference in their lives. You will always live in the hearts of many. I love you and I miss you so much. See you at the river.

To All:
A whole year has gone by since we all lost Tommy, but it still feels like yesterday. And there are so many conflicting feelings at his loss ~ the sadness and the pain, and yet the peace of letting him go so he can be done with his gallant fight. He was and still is an amazing presence in our lives, and will always be found in our hearts and in the world around us. Someone said he hugged with his whole heart - he did! My Laura said he can be found in the wind and the leaves and the sun and the stars, and he can. Listen, you can hear him whisper in your ear.

Blessings and Peace
Mrs. C (as Tommy called me)

Tom,
Thanksgiving wasn't the same with out you. I had a very hard time preparing the vegetables and I didn't have any onions to blame the tears . I didn't even want to have dinner. I will have you know I didn't add any thing extra to the potatos. It was funny though when Sam saw Ricky come in the door. She saidHi and then realized he wasn't supposed to be there and her mouth hit the floor. The day did get better once we started playing cards with mom and Ricky. I hope you are at peace where ever you are. I love you.

The sun is shining and the sky is a beautiful blue. The wind is chilly and the crisp leaves are rustling on the ground. There was a buck in the woods out back today and I saw a shooting star last week. There were tears in my eyes yesterday, 5 months gone by, but somehow I think you're still here. You are in the sun, the sky, the wind and the leaves. When I see things like a deer and a shooting star I think of you, and say "Thank you". I miss you Tommy.

Dear Tom
As you already know we took you up to the Swift River this past weekend. I really think you would have liked the little ceremony that we had for you. People told stories and Allie sent a letter for Barbara to read because she couldn't be there. You would have been proud of us. Tina, Angie, Mom, and I all stood in the OH MY GOD cold water while we let some of you go into the river. Then Rick took the rest of you out to where you used to swim, yes he swam out there, and he let you go. We also let some flowers go to that Mary O'brien had sent to mom. It was very nice and comforting to know that you were where you loved to be. Now when we want to visit you we have a peaceful and beautiful place to go to. I will see you again some day. I love you and miss you.

This weekend Tommy's family and friends went up to Lincoln, NH to his favorite campground to spread his ashes. I was honored to be a part of this. As I watch his Brother swim out to his favorite swimming spot taking his last swim with his brother and his family and all the incrediable love that all of us shared with him somehow I know Tommy you were watching us and it meant the world to you. I miss you my forever friend and you will always live in my memories and in my heart.

Dear Eden family,
I am so sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. I grew up in Bedford and had the pleasure of hanging out with Tommy many times from jr. high on and I always felt, even then, even when he was being a goof, that he had a maturity beyond his years-that he was an old soul. I did not know that he was sick but I am not at all surprised to read from all of the other entries that he fought bravely. The words I think of when I think of Tommy Eden: kind, stubborn, strong, wise. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends.

Judy and Jackie,
I was stunned to hear about Tommy. David left me a message from Ft. Lauderdale yesterday. Someone called him from Bedford to ask if he had heard the news. He hadn't. My favorite memory of Tommy will always be the summer we packed David and Tommy off to camp for a couple of weeks in NH. They had plenty of stories to tell from that experience. He was a sweet kid and was always welcome in my house. He will be missed.

Tommy,
You were one of the most sweetest genuine people I ever met! Although it had been many years since we spoke I will never forget all the times you were there as a friend to help me smile when I thought I couldn't. I will never forget you! another guardian angel received his wings! rest in peace tommy!

My warm thoughts and regards to all those close to Tommy, especially his family. I am quite stunned and saddened to learn of Tommy's passing. I grew up in Bedford with him and have moved away for many years now and it might be close to those years since i last saw him, but Bedford has this unique brotherhood for those who grew up there. Tommy was a great great guy, although never close i felt he was a class act. To learn of his long battle with cancer and his recent passing was upsetting, but I am not surprised to hear of his great strength in fighting this disease. He was a strong man from when we were young and I imagine his great big smile and heart helped those closest to him fight along his side. Well wishes to you all as you embrace his fine legacy and this tragic and great loss.

Judy, Tommy fought courageously, and so did you. You are a hero to me.
I will always remember our camping trip, and Tommy’s joy in being in nature.
I pray that the peace of God will surround you and comfort you and I know that Tommy will live on in your heart forever.
My deepest sympathy to the whole family.

My family and I wanted to express our deepest sympathy to all of Tommy's friends and family. We only met Tommy a dozen times but heard of him often from my Dad (Lee Kelley). The last time I saw Tommy was at my Grandmothers funeral and I remember we all looked at each other with amazement when he walked in. He was struggling with his own battle yet made it a point to take the time to be there for my Dad and the rest of my family.I remember hugging people all day long but when I hugged Tommy it was different,he did not know me all that well yet I could tell he hugged me with his heart. My Dad had always talked about Tommy with a smile on his face or a sense of happiness in his voice and I knew from that day on so would I. You dont meet people like Tommy that often these days and I am honored to say I knew him and had the chance to meet " One of Gods finest". Until you all meet again "God Bless"

Judy,
Words cannot express the sadness I feel for the passing of Tommy. He was a great person who always cared about everyone else first. I will cherish the times we had when our kids were growing up. I still look at pictures of Tommy at Gregg's birthday parties. May all the memories of Tommy help you through this time. He is with the angels and will always be by your side and at times you will feel his presence.

Dear Tom
I started writing you a letter a few days ago, but unfortunately did not have the courage to finish. I know we were not one's to express our feelings for each other growing up (other than fighting), but I made a point to tell you I love you many times over the past few weeks. I cannot beging to tell you how much I will miss you, for I have lost one of my very best friends. I love you.

A Friend

June 18, 2008

I was not fortunate enough to know Tom for year upon year, but undoubtedly blessed to call him my friend. Be proud of your son, your brother, your companion, your friend. For a man is born in part, of those kept closest to him. Brave and true. Loyal and principled. A fine young man by any measure. Take certain comfort in having known him, raised him, loved him. Knowing full well, no amount of time is enough. Love your son, your brother, your friend, and he will walk with you always.

I Do Believe by Jennifer Janiszewski.
There is nothing I can do, to make him come back. There are no words I can say, that can replace the words you long to hear. There are no answer's I can give, that will satisfy your questions. There is not another soul I can introduce you to that will ever replace his. And, there is no love I can offer that will ever replace the love you shared. I can not promise your broken heart will ever be complete. I will not say it could have been worse. I will not deny it was a tragedy. I will not lie and tell you that he will come back. He never really left. I do promise that he hears you when you speak. I will say he loves you no matter the distance. I will not deny he is in a better place. And, I will not lie; he is waiting to greet you someday. He is in every step you take. He is in everything you do. He is the air you breathe. He is every beat of your heart. "He is like the wind. You can not see him...but you will always feel him"
