Thomas J. McMahon

McMAHON, Thomas J. Age 79 of South Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, on March 15, 2010. Beloved husband of Jeanne (Rogers) McMahon, Loving father of Thomas Joseph McMahon and his wife Elizabeth of South Weymouth (grandson Thomas J. McMahon IV); Daniel McMahon (deceased) and his wife Catherine of South Weymouth (grandson Daniel Joseph McMahon); and Michael D. McMahon and his wife Michelle of Quincy (granddaughter Aubrey M. McMahon). Graduate of Quincy High School where he played football later becoming a Quincy/North Quincy Hall of Fame member. Also played for several semi-pro football teams including the Quincy Manets. Member of US Naval Reserves then became a pipefitter at Bethlehem Steel at the Fore River Shipyard. Later spent several years as a mechanical designer for multiple defense contractors at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Retired from Charles T. Main as Chief Mechanical Designer where he spent most of his career. One of the most accomplished weightlifters and handball players in New England, Tom enjoyed spending Saturday afternoons playing football and weightlifting with his three sons. A Prayer Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home SO. WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 Opp. So. Sh. Hospital) Fri. at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, So. Weymouth.
