Tom and Dickey coached our Payson Park 6th grade basketball team to the town championship - beating Butler in the final. Dick was the coach and Tom - just 2 years ahead of us would join him to assist. They were and are both giants to the O'Connells - role models at the most impressionable time in life. I don't know why but I viewed Tom as "my bodyguard" - not really for me but, because I sensed or heard that he was a physical force that looked out for what was right and for anyone who was being picked on. If there were only more Tom Ramseys in the world- it would be a better place. To Dick- I will always have the best of memories of our months with you and Tom. You were true brothers and taught me everything I ever needed to know about brotherly love.

My husband already spoke on our behalf in Tom's memory, but I wish to add appreciation for what a larger than life figure Tom was in our neighborhood with his his beautiful smile and warm, vibrant presence. Tom will always be here in our imagination and in our hearts. We miss him and our hearts go out to Beth and Family.

Tom was a lively, gregarious, kind, and generous person -- always quick with a greeting and happy to chat and catch up. He will surely be missed by his friends, family, and neighbors.

Simply stated, Tom was epitome of class, decency and humanity. I will miss many things about Tommy, his wit, his intelligence and vibrance. He had an ability to make everyone around him feel good about themselves. He was a gentle soul. This is a loss for all that knew him and loved him.
