Coming up on the 10th anniversary of Ginny´s passing (and close to the 21st anniversary of my mother Sidney Barnes´ passing in 2004). Thanks for the reminder as it brings back many, many memories of my interactions in West Newton and on Cape Cod with Ginny, the entire Hayden family, my Barnes family, and 2nd Church youth. Very special times in my life. Bob Barnes, Ridgecrest, northwestern Mojave Desert portion of Kern County, California.

Remembering Virginia Hayden today and thankful for her hospitality at Second Church, at the Cape Cod house, and at non-Cape and non-church gatherings. A wonderful friend to my mother Sid Barnes from the 1950s to 2004. Bob Barnes, Ridgecrest, Kern County, Mojave Desert, California.

Dear Hayden Family,
Ginny was a dear friend. We enjoyed many great adventures with Church Woman United. She was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader and was leader to many Newton young ladies. She will be missed. Until we meet again, Lee Hill

My heart goes out to you for your deep loss you must be feeling for your beloved Virginia. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in one another. (Jeremiah 29:12,13)

I remember "Auntie Din" and the life long relationship she shared with my mom. They met at Bates and became close friends. After College they continued to celebrate each other's joys and lament their sorrows. Rest in peace Auntie Din.

Thinking of your Mom's long life and the decades of friendship between the Hanke and Hayden families that had its roots at Second Church. The Bean Club dwindled in time to two charter members, your Mom and our Dad, Ev Hanke. Wonderful times. We're thinking of you all and hope you find peace in the happy memories of Din's life.

Virginia contributed so much to the family reunions. For me, they will never be the same without her. God bless all of the family as you accept her passage unto the kingdom of heaven. My prayers are with you. With love, Linda (Ford) Parker

Dear Cynthia, Janet, Kate, Suzanne, and Tom,
I was very saddened to hear of your mom' s passing. I remember when I was introduced to her.....it was on my first visit to "Green Shutters" as Stuart's "lady friend". She was so gracious, making me feel welcome right away. That was ten years ago. Over the course of time, I have grown to know her as a women who embraced life with a joie de vive spirit. I will always treasure my memories of joining her on "low tide" walks, as well as marveling at her Olympian form as she swam her afternoon laps, white bathing cap bobbing in and out of the water. Aunt Din was truly an inspiration to us all.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Virginia Hayden. Her presence at Cape Cod was a constant during our summer s; her 5:00 swim, every day including last year, more than memorable. As hard as we tried, we couldn't get in that cold water. Yet there she was. Always interested in our families and interesting to talk with, she will be sorely missed. Our heartfelt sympathies,

I met Aunt Din 15 years ago and since then she was a part of my Cape Cod summer vacations package. She amazed me when I saw her taking her daily swims, she warmed my heart when she was giving me a hug and I certainly shall always remember her smile that every time it felt like it lit up the universe. God bless your soul, my dear lady.
