Walt Connor, whom I met while working at Radio Free Europe, was a good friend for three decades. I enjoyed his intelligence, knowledge, and wit. I will miss him.

Thanks Walter for thumbing Route 9 with my beloved husband Larry Kenney back in the 60s from Holy Cross to either Regis Collage or my parent's home in Quincy, Mass. Fish chowder and apple pie were always awaitng your arrival.

My deepest sympathy to your family. Our families were so close when we lived in Islip. We all went to Seton Hall together. I will send a donation to Saint Jude's in Walter's name.

Walt was a great friend and colleague. His wit, warmth and collegiality were greatly appreciated by all who had the good fortune to know him. Though our backgrounds and political views were quite different, we instinctively felt close. In the last years we traded messages mocking the idiocies of contemporary academe. I will miss him greatly and extend my deepest sympathies to Eileen, Christine and Elizabeth.

Thinking of you Eileen, and the whole family today. I have so many fond memories of Walt-- in Arlington, Brookline, at the Cape. My life is richer for having known him. Love, love, love to you all.

Walt was my husband, Larry Kenney's, roommate at Holy Cross so we double dated many times during those years. In fact, he dated my Regis College roommate Ellen for a few years until he graduated, married a gal from Milton and she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph. Walt was a dear friend.

Eileen and family, I was so sorry to see the notice from the Davis Center and wanted to send my condolences. I have such fond memories of Walter-all those coffee hours, dinners after seminars when I would drive him home, and more. I also remember your wonderful hospitality over the years around Christmas time.

I hope your memories sustain you.
