Dear Marjie,
I forever remember Bill welcoming my late husband as a new member of the Burwick team so many years ago. Both you and Bill invited us to dinner a few times making a very young family feel welcome. Your kindness meant so much.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. My most sincere condolences to you and your family.

The passing of William Bernstein is a loss to the legal profession, the public, the City of Worcester and obviously to his family. He helped guide younger lawyers in ways that matter and I am sure none of us will ever forget. May you be comforted amongst those who mourn for Zion and Yerushalyim.

Coincidentally, I was just thinking of Billy the day before I learned of his passing. Perhaps it's not just coincidence. I was saddened to hear of the passing of another member of our extended family. My condolences go out to Marjorie, Laurie, Bobby and Richard. Time does not heal all wounds, but it helps make them hurt less.

Bill was a true gentleman who taught me a great deal about leadership and friendship. He was such a welcoming presence in an environment which did not always accept women. I regarded him as a good friend and mentor and my thoughts go out to your entire family. We have lost a great lawyer and even better person. May his memory be a blessing. Alice Richmond

Bill was a superb attorney, a meticulous practitioner who served as guide and mentor to many lawyers from throughout Massachusetts. The level of respect in which his colleagues held him led to his distinguished service to his profession, to his bar associations and to the judicial nominating processes. First, though, he was a true gentleman, devoted to his fine family, to his religion and to his community. Truly, Bill lived his life for the benefit and well-being of others, and he leaves behind a wealth of pleasant memories for those who were privileged to know him and to work with him.
