WILLIAM LAFONTAINE Obituary

LaFONTAINE, William James Age 68, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2024, in Sagamore Beach, MA. Born on March 23, 1956 in Worcester, MA, to Louis and Astrid LaFontaine. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and papa. Throughout his life, Bill worked in the lighting industry for almost 40 years, where he applied his expertise and passion for decades. His hobbies included following New England sports, fishing all over Cape Cod and the Islands, learning to play guitar, enjoying classic rock and blues music, traveling and spending cherished moments with his family and friends. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth (Mooney); son, Jason; daughter-in-law, Lauren; and his granddaughter, Ellie, the light of his life. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces; and adoring dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gary and Kenneth. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held in the Spring of 2025. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Jonah Finn Foundation, 250 Chestnut St., Cambridge, MA 02139 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
