Bill has been with us almost everywhere we have sailed over the past thirty years with companions on the Anne E and, after its sale, by land with his wonderful childen. We will miss him in Maine especially. He hated to miss a good party. A good friend indeed.

An amazing man who will live on in the memories of many as the philanthropic, sailing, innovator, and great provider that he was. Where would we be today without the chicken extruder machine? Or the memories of Fieldston on the Atlantic? Or cube steak? And the list goes on. He was the truest version of "member of the community" that there ever was. On top of all of that, he was genuine, smart, very wise, and fun to listen to. A man who will be missed!

Annie and Will, and family. I was so sorry to hear about Bill's death. He always had a "hi" to me, and when i was Chair of the SSC Board for a few years, he was always up for advice and suggestions. He was always about value to and for the Community. He loved music and the arts, and he loved, maybe even more, what they did for people. I respected his passion for life and living so much. Best, Gerald Jones. Hingham.

Bill Spang was a frequent and always welcome visitor at Thayer Academy. He shared many memories of the years he and his siblings spent at the Academy. He made history come alive for us, and lived his life as a role model for being an active senior. We will miss him. On behalf of all of his Thayer friends, I send our condolences to his family.

To the Spang family: I would like to extend my sincere condolences at this difficult time. I hope your many wonderful memories of your Dad will give you solace. He was fortunate to have lived such a long and adventure-filled life. Sincerely, Anne Engel...(Ranger at World's End where I see Annie Spang frequently)
