I knew Sandy during high school days in Baltimore; and was a Hebrew School student at Beth El Synagogue and worshipped with the distinguished Rsbbi Jacob Agus through my Bar Mitzvah. Zalman was the year ahead of me at John´s Hopkins pre-med but ZI went to Hopkins Med School 1960-1965. My wife, Arleen and I, followed Zalman´s extraordinary Mefical career these last 60 years as ZzI eventually became ZProfessor of Medicine/Csrdiology at Columbia Presbyterian in New York City. Zalman´s contributions and legacy are enormous. All of our condolences to Sandy and the Family! Michael and Arleen Cohen

Zalman and I were in the same homeroom class in high school. He was quiet but very bright. I connected with him later in life as I was on the reunion committee of our high school in Baltimore. Two days ago, I went to visit my next door neighbor for 35 years Heshey Schoenfeld who was also in our class. Sandy his wife tells me she got a call from Zalman's wife that he had passesd away. I got goose pumps. In all the years I have known Sandy and Heshey, Zalmans name neverr came up in our conversations, and we even drove togethrer in the same car. Had I only known That the Agus' and Schoenfeld;s were best frIends, my life wouLd been that much richer. My Zalman now be at peace-Larry Schultz- Class of June 1957-Baltimore City College-

We are so saddened to hear the news. Zalman was a beautiful, brilliant, and kind man who was always there for my father, Issac Furman. My dad thought of him as his best friend and he loved him. We loved him. Wishing the family our heartfelt condolences. Esther Furman and Jack Miles.

We were blessed to call Zal our friend for all these years. He was special to us. He had a terrific sense of humor, was as smart as they come, a good friend and was devoted to his family. May his memory be a blessing to us all. Rest in Peace, Zal... Bob and Patti

Baruch Dayan HaEmet. Zalman, z'l, was part of our Cherry Hill lives both @ Kellman Academy and Congregation Beth El. We were in classes with him and always enjoyed our interactions, his sense of humor, and his quiet wisdom. We wish Sandy, David, Michael, Joel, and the family warm memories and comfort from each other. We have lost a giant.

I met Sandy and Zal many years ago when they lived in Cherry Hill. Zal was one of the kindest man whom I ever met. I often had Shabbat dinner with Sandy and Zal and learned so much by listening to Zal...I am forever grateful to both Sandy and Zal, who were so kind and loving to me. Zal was very smart and although he was not much of a talker, he said so much when he spoke. I know how much his family will miss him and thankful for the closeness of the family who will comfort Sandy.
