Uncle Arthur,
You made us all proud and happy to know you. You served your country with honor, worked hard to support your family, never turned your back on a friend who needed help and most importantly, you were a great DAD to your children.
You will be missed...

Artie once had money stolen from him and he said "they must have needed it more than me". That was his true nature, material things meant nothing. He did not read from the bible - his life was well lived and full of love for others. A good day was making someone else smile or feel important. Thank you Arthur for instilling that in your family. Rest in peace.

Big Artie- Your sense of humor and great nature will be forever missed. I bet you are in heavan with your daughter Mary now watching over us probably cracking your usual jokes hoping to help take away the tears as you always were so good at. After all you were one of a few that could make anyone that knew you smile on the worst of their days. I am forever grateful that I had the pleasure of knowing you as a person. You were an amazing man with a big heart and have an amazing family to be so proud of. Rest in peace Artie! You will be missed.
My condolences to the Downey family during this tough time.

He was a terrific man with not only a kind word for all but the actions to support it. If you needed a meal he would cook you one, if you needed shelter he would make sure you had it, if you needed an ear to listen to, he was available. A man who would give you his last dollar. A sense of humor that brightened the life of many. May you rest in well deserved peace.
