David O'Callaghan Obituary

O’CALLAGHAN David Joseph Tully, 23, of Holbrook and Randolph, suddenly in an auto accident in black ice conditions, January 17, 2015. David was born in St. Brendan Parish, Dorchester and attended St Gregory’s elementary school. He graduated from Blue Hill Regional High School, Canton where he received a degree in building construction. David was a standout, all-scholastic soccer goalie. He enjoyed playing all sports but soccer and baseball were his favorites, he could hit a baseball a country mile. He was a huge Patriots fan and always wagered heavily on them. In the past year he became a proud member of Local 67 Carpenters Union as an apprentice carpenter. David received his greatest apprenticeship training in building from his uncles John and Padraig Tully. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was especially proud of his four year old son Caiden. He was a handsome, charismatic, personable young man with a bright future and his smile, wit, and humor will be sorely missed by all his family and his many friends. If David had the chance he would have said “be safe until we meet again”. Loving son of Helen Tully of Holbrook and Timothy O’Callaghan of Dorchester. Dear grandson of Evelynn Tully of Glenomaddy, Co Galway, Ireland. Loving father of Caiden Mann, his mother Kayla Mann, her parents Timothy and Patricia Mann and the entire Mann family of Randolph and Holbrook. Brother of Michael Joe O’Callaghan. Beloved nephew and god mother Anne Magee of Ireland. Nephew of Mary Cronin and her husband Rory of Ireland, Padraig Tully and his wife Bernadette of Weymouth, his god father John Tully and Mary Flanagan of Randolph, Oliver Tully and his wife Yvonne of Co Galway, Ireland, Michael Tully and his wife Colette of Birmingham, England, John David Sean O’Callaghan and his wife Kathy of Quincy and Michael Joseph O’Callaghan and his wife Alice (Curley) of Hingham. Dearest great grandnephew of Connie O’Callaghan, Margaret O’Leary of Brookline, Anna Casey and Theresa Parks of Mission Hill. Many cousins from Weymouth, Dublin, Co Galway, Co Kerry, London, Boston, Quincy and Birmingham. Numerous second and third cousins from Co Kerry and Co Galway Ireland. Good friend to Matt and Tommy Keough of Norwell and Ryan Cavanaugh of Randolph. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main Street (Rt 28), RANDOLPH until 9:00 A.M. on Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Gregory Church, Dorchester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Dear Helen & Family,

Try as I might, mere words cannot begin to convey how very sorry I am for what has happened and for everything you must be feeling. Language simply isn't adequate, so instead, I send you all my love.

Dave, What can I say about the many years we have been friends/brothers and confidants - These are the times in which we reflect on our lives and how we impact the lives of others. You were truly someone that was always there for me -through thick and thin - and that my friend is what is defined as "The measure of a man". Although you can no longer be here on this earth with me - you will remain forever in my heart and of those that have held you dear. I will miss the brother that I never had. I love you guy - Godspeed my brother Ryan

To the brother from another mother - you have been a true friend and a loyal solider. It breaks my heart that I will no longer have you in my life to share my life's pleasures. I send my prayers and all of my love to the Tully's and the O'Callaghan's for giving me the precious time that I spent with their son David Joseph - he will forever be in my heart and my soul.
We will always love you - Love the Richardi family
