George V. Finiello

FINIELLO George V., 95 of Whitman passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Jennie (D’Angelo) Finiello. His children John L. Finiello of Hanson, Elena Finiello of Marshfield, Jean O. Finiello of Whitman and the late Jerome P. Finiello. Brother of the late Concettina Manzo, Silvia Finiello, Josephine Finiello, Luigi Finiello, and Elena D’Acunzo. Grandfather of Andrea (Finiello) Devoe and Amy Finiello. Great-grandfather of Vinnie Jr. and Nora Devoe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. George was born in Naples, Italy. He served in the Italian Navy, and also partnership with the U.S. Navy. He worked as a top machinist for the Masoneilan Valve Co. In Norwood, and also he was a former employee of the D.B. Gurney Co. in Whitman. He was a true craftsman, carpenter and jack of all trades. He loved cooking, gardening, boating and the ocean. He especially loved traveling with his wife, and spending time with family. Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington Street, WHITMAN on Thursday May 5, 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass Friday in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment at St. James Cemetery, Whitman. George’s family would like to thank the Beacon Hospice Staff, for their care and service.
