Jeanne was my godmother and my mother's childhood friend.I remember her distinctive laugh, kind and generous ways and thoughtfulness. She would travel hours to see us throughout my life. I feel fortunate, that ,I recently spoke with her. Her last words to me were" do not forget me". One never forgets someone who always made you smile and laugh.One never forgets someone who made the time for you. Throughout my life, she sent me cards for holidays, nurse's day, my birthday, Saint Paddy's day,Easter and just how are you doing cards. I will never forget her, because, she is an example of a wonderful person. Now, she is at home in heaven. I thank you Jeanne and, yes, I will always remember you.

Dear Auntie Jeanne
My earliest and most lasting memory of you
Is you singing me to sleep with an Irish lullaby
When you would come to our house on Stockton Street
Thank you for all your generosity to us all
And for your example in how to treat the elderly and unfortunate
Also what true friendship is all about
You were truly an original and one of a kind
The last of an amazing family of which i feel blessed to be a part of.
