Joseph Carbone Obituary

Joseph T. Carbone, Sr. of Woburn, MA passed away peacefully at his home on June 16, 2023 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Constance G. "Connie" (Arena) for the past 58 years. Joe was the son of the late Peter Carbone, Sr. and Anna (Morandi). He was the devoted father of Joseph Carbone, Jr. and his wife Denise, Michael Carbone and his wife Deborah, Derek Carbone and his wife Susan, Marc Carbone and his wife Adriana, and Shelby Wiley and her husband Robert. Joe also had great admiration for his eight grandchildren: Joseph III, Calvin, Celia, Kelly, Caroline, Cole, Isabella, Luke and great-grandson Bohan; in addition to many other beloved family and friends. Joe also had a special place in his heart for his favorite dogs, Maverick and Roxy.

Joe is also survived by his five siblings: Salvatore Carbone and his late wife Janice, Peter Carbone, Jr. and his wife Carol, John Carbone, Anna Marie (Carbone) Murphy and her late husband James, Robert Carbone and his wife Diane, and sister-in-law Dianne Carbone.

Growing up on Salem Street in Woburn, Joe was a graduate of Woburn High School Class of 1962. At a very young age Joe joined his siblings in the family business founded by their father Peter Carbone, Sr. Joe had a strong work ethic and was meticulous, taking pride in all he did. Joe later expanded the interests of Peter Carbone and Sons, Inc. into automotive sales and transportation. He and his siblings grew the business to include residential/commercial real estate. Joe also furthered his studies in the automotive field in addition to attending Northeastern University. In his later years, following the sale of the family business, Joe enjoyed his time at Commonwealth Carrier and Bay State Floral.

As a young athlete, he excelled at baseball becoming an All-Star player. Joe was an integral part of his children's and grandchildren's interests as a regular spectator at their sporting events and other activities. Of utmost importance to Joe was his family, taking enormous pride in their accomplishments. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, especially trips to Florida. Family and friends were extremely important to Joe and Connie as they hosted numerous parties at their home. Joe will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, June 24th at 10 a.m. All are invited to meet directly at the church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, Friday, June 23rd from 3-7 p.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Remembrances may be made in honor of Joe to a charity of one's choice.
