Just heard of Do Do passing and I am deeply saddened. I worked with him as a bartender at the Quencher and he was trully the best boss I ever had. He also was a great friend alwAys kind and considerate . He nicknamed me Wackie Jackie and I will cherish the memories of how he made me laugh. Hopefully he is having a few cold ones with my dear friend Eddie Maguire. My prayers and thoughts are with the entire Nee family. He trully touched many. Gone but never forgotten. May he RIP. One of my fondest memories is during the height of Vietnam, Dodo and a bunch of Southie friends joined the Marines. Before he left, he gave me his high school letterman jacket. Even though it was huge, I wore it with pride, all through Jr High. RIP Cous.

Last week Dodo called me to say goodbye. It was the hardest phone call of my life. It seems like yesterday we enlisted in the Marine Corps together with eleven other Southie guys. Growing up with Dodo were the best of days. We sure crossed many of life's bridges together. Nobody made people laugh more than Dodo. Helping people was in Dodo's blood and he sure did a great job. He loved his family, his friends and Southie. Semper Fi Brother, Dizzy

Sad to hear of the passing of Joe Nee. I met him at Fire HQ and my wife and the Ivanoskis knew him years before that. They often talk of him and share with me memories of days gone by. Joe had the same cancer I had. it was a tough battle and once again .. that disease wins. it was not because he didnt fight it.. he did.. We prayed for you Joe. Rest in Peace .. it was great knowing there was a guy that did so much for so many.. the tribute you are getting are well deserved. RIP and Semper Fi

Dear Susan and Children,

Dodo was my very first friend. We were little ones running around on H street. We went to Gatey together and remained friends for life. Even as a little guy he was always laughing and always helpful. If he saw my Mother carrying bundles from the store at H and 5th he always took them from her and carried them into our house. He came from a great family. Helen and Joe were great people and great neighbors. Thinking of the Nee family brings back a flood of wonderful memories. Dodo was also my brother Marine and he served his country honorably and well. I will be grateful forever that I was granted the gift of being able to say goodbye to my oldest friend and I will be ever grateful and thankful for knowing him. I know this is a great loss but he touched so many people in his life and you should take comfort that they are all offering their prayers for you now.
Semper Fi my Brother and Rest in Peace.

Susan & Family,
I'm so sorry for your huge loss and I want you to know how I feel, along with so many others, about Uncle Joe. He was one of the BEST BOSTONIANS I've ever, ever known. What a guy; so kind, so generous, so wonderful to his grand kids (and to my kids), such a tremendous asset to the South Boston community and to people in recovery. His heart was huge, his smile infectious and he had such zest for life that I just shake my head when I think of the void he has left in your family....and in your town.

I will ALWAYS smile when I think of Uncle Joe and I know that you will do the same..in time.
Rest easy Uncle Joe
