Leo McDonough Obituary

McDonough, Leo, J. age 94, passed away in Ft. Pierce, FL on 2/20/23. Leo was born in Boston and raised by his mother Agnes (Gately) in Dorchester with his brothers Tom and Jack and sister Janet. Leo enlisted in the USMC at age 17 and after being honorably discharged, was appointed to the Boston Police Department (Station 4) in May, 1953. Upon retiring from the BPD, Leo spent 15 years as a Court Security Officer at the Federal Courthouse, Boston, then moved to Ft. Pierce, FL where he was a gracious and welcoming host to all who visited him. Loving father to Leo J and his wife Jeanne, David J and his wife Liza, Mark A and the late Stephen B. Also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother in-law Edward MacCormack and sister in-law Jane McDonough. Leo was cremated and interred at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Pierce, FL. Arrangements were provided by the Aycock Funeral Homes, Ft. Pierce.

Leo you were one of a kind. Such a beautiful person to me and my son. You will greatly missed and we´re loved by us. Thanks for being a step in grandfather to my son and always being there. I will never forget you! Love you and see you someday again. I´m happy you are now pain free and I´m sure you were so happy to see Steve again!
