Michael J. Hogan

Born and raised in South Boston, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at age 71. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne (Gifford) Hogan. Devoted father of Michael Hogan and his partner Kathleen Higgins of Dorchester, William and his wife Dina of South Boston, Keryn and her husband Charles Langley of Plymouth and the late Matthew Hogan. Loving grandfather of Matthew and Ryan Hogan, Kyle and Kaitleigh Couturier and Emma Langley. Michael was a brother of Elizabeth Mahoney, Patricia Sloane, William, John, Janet, Thomas, Robert, Dennis, Ann Marie Hogan and the late Dorothy Peecha. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Michael served in the Air Force during Vietnam, was an employee of the MBTA for over 28 years, served as President of Alliance of Unions of the MBTA, and was the former director of the Mass Bay Credit Union. He was a hot wheels' connoisseur, enjoyed collecting coins, and loved visiting Disney World with family and friends. A visitation will be held at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., SOUTH BOSTON on Tuesday, August 17th from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service at Fourth Presbyterian Church 340, Dorchester St., South Boston will be held on Wednesday August 18th at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360.
