EMILY SIEGER

Emily Sieger, 73, passed away in Bozeman on the first day of Spring, March 20, 2025. Emily was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Sieger, and grew up in New Jersey. She earned undergraduate and Masters degrees at the University of Chicago, and a Master of Public Administration at Montana State University. Emily made a career as a librarian, holding positions on the library faculty at MSU-Bozeman, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Library of Congress, and the State Library of Wyoming. As a young adult Emily was an avid outdoorswoman. In later years she like nothing better than training Staffordshire bull terriers to compete in agility trials around the West. Emily is survived by her brother Stan, and will be remembered by her Bozeman friends for her generosity to charity, for the notorious Tropical Potluck she once hosted (in someone else's house), and for her unwavering faith in her dogs. Contributions in Emily's memory should be directed to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter in Bozeman or the Cancer Support Community of Montana.
