Jacob McConnell Obituary

Belgrade- Jacob "Jake" David McConnell, 41, of Belgrade, Montana, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Growing up in the Ronan and Polson, Montana area, Jake lived a life full of energy, heart, and unwavering love for the people around him. He graduated from Ronan High School and attended both Montana Tech in Butte and MSU in Bozeman.

Jake had a magnetic personality- warm, outgoing, and genuinely kind. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn't gotten to know yet. His joy for life was infectious, and his smile could light up any room. Whether he was cracking a joke, sharing a story, or lending a hand, Jake had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Jake lived for adventure and had a deep love for the outdoors. Snowmobiling wasn't just a hobby for him-it was one of his greatest passions. He spent countless hours out on the trails, always excited to explore the mountains and share the experience with friends and family. He also loved football, racing, tinkering in the garage, and doing anything that let him be active and outside. Jake was also a great dancer and enjoyed a good two step to a country song, and that perfectly captured his fun-loving spirit.

Professionally, Jake was a respected and dedicated leader in the security field. He worked his way up to become a Security Manager, a role he earned through determination, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by those around him. His leadership was grounded in integrity and genuine care for his team, earning him not just professional respect, but personal admiration.

More than anything, Jake loved his family and enjoyed large family gatherings. He was a devoted father to his son, Paxton McConnell, who was the pride and center of his world. He cherished being a dad-every moment with Paxton brought him joy, purpose, and deep fulfillment. They spent time snowmobiling, camping, fishing and working on trucks together.

Jake also shared a strong, loving marriage with his wife, Lisa McConnell, whom he adored. He said that love was like the wind, and she was his tornado. Their relationship was built on laughter, loyalty, and deep mutual respect. Lisa was his partner in every sense- his steady support, his joy, and the one he looked forward to growing through life with. Together they built a life full of love and shared purpose, raising Paxton and stepdaughters Emma and Anna with care, fun, and family at the center of it all, even through busy schedules and activities, and Jake poured his heart into it.

Jake was also incredibly close with his parents, Mary Strozzi (Jeff) and Dave McConnell. He treasured their support and friendship, and time spent with them was filled with laughter, love, and shared pride in their family. He had a strong bond with his brother, Chase McConnell (Melissa), and his sister, Jordan Rausch (John). Whether it was time together in the garage, cheering on their favorite teams, or just being with one another, Jake valued his siblings deeply. He was a proud and playful uncle to Lily, Jameson, Emma, Makayla, Elijah, and Jeremiah, and loved making memories with each of them-whether through teasing jokes, outdoor adventures, or just being present.

Jake also shared a special relationship with his grandparents, Dick and Monte Wunderlich. Their love and influence shaped him in many ways. He deeply respected them and cherished the values and strength they instilled in him. Their close bond brought joy and meaning to Jake throughout his life.

He also leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends who loved him like family.

Jake departed from us far too soon. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. But his legacy- the way he lived, loved, laughed, and lifted up others- will live on. He was a one-of-a-kind soul, and his memory will forever be carried in the hearts of many. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Messages of condolences may be shared online at www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com.
